New Technologies
On this post I will be discussing
how new technologies are used in the production of our films in these four key
areas:
RESEARCH
BLOGGER- Blogger hosted all my other new technologies
at the research and planning stage. As a multi-media social networking tool it
allowed me to collate, archive, display and create research and planning with
images, videos, sound files and posts that I could share with my group,
examples of this would be my prelim and images and my art of the titles. It
hosted all my other presentational tools, from Emaze to Slide share.
TWITTER - Twitter enables me to
follow relevant media figures and organizations in regard to media news. As
Alan Rusbridger said, Twitter is one of the quickest and easiest forms of accessing
the news. I talked about this in more on the 9th October on my blog.
EMAZE- I used Emaze for my distribution of indie films display as it is a modern use of technology which clearly, yet interactively
displays information. This makes information accessible and clear for the moderator
to see.
YOUTUBE - I used YouTube to
upload video content which was too large for my blog, for example my prelim and my interview. I also used it to see what other student work.
SLIDESHARE - I used Slide Share
to present my research on Art of the Title as you can easily post
PowerPoints for people to see. This made it easy to post PowerPoints on my
blog.
PLANNING
iMESSAGE– I used I message when
needing to communicate with my group about filming, for example the location
and time of shooting.
GOOGLE DOCS - This was extremely helpful
when creating our shot list as everyone is our group was able to contribute to
the work on the document. This technology is very easy to access and flexible
and I would class it as a necessity when involved in group work as everyone can
work on it from home.
TRELLO – Trelllo helped me to organize
myself and make sure I had an organized checklist of the work which was
required.
CONSTRUCTION
DIGITAL CAMERA- Canon D550, D650
FINAL CUT PRO- We used this new
and advanced editing tool on our movie as it offers a clean and pristine look to
our movie. We were able to add sound bridges and other editing techniques with
ease.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP - I used Photoshop
to create the poster and the logo for our movie. Photoshop, although some times
confusing, is expansive and a powerful tool in regard to creating art such as
posters and logos.
INSTAGAM, FACEBOOK AND TWITTER –
We created social media accounts for our film in an attempt to push the
popularity of our film to a wider audience. We did this to replicate the
process which large film organizations go through to make their film look
appealing. The link to our Instagram can be seen here.
EVALUATION
SNAPCHAT – We used Snapchat as a
source of communication when sharing short snippets of the film with each other
on our stories and other people who have us. This allowed a larger number of
people to be able to see the production, and finished product from our movie.
YOUTUBE– We uploaded to YouTube
in order to get feedback from the viewers of the film. Claremont has its onYouTube channel which is was uploaded too.
Excellent use made of new technologies when researching, planning, constructing and evaluating the production. Well ordered response with illustrations and some live links.
