I attracted and addressed my audiences my using a variety of techniques. I created a poster and website to address our audience which do not use social media platforms such as Instagram. I made an Instagram for our target audience which do use social media platforms.
Target audiences are reached through P&A (prints and advertising) and other conventional forms of distribution, such as film posters and film websites. Therefore I have created a poster on photoshop and my production team has created a website.

In addition to this, our audience being a younger audience are accustomed to using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. Due to this I created an Instagram and my production team created a Facebook and Twitter. One of the benefits of using social media is that it harnesses viral marketing which is really important for a low budget production like ours: the fans spread the word themselves without any cost to the production team, whereas P&A is very expensive.
Creating our Film Poster
I took responsibility with Milo for designing and constructing a film poster for our film Nine. As we developed our ideas, we sought feedback from our group and from our target audience. The reason for creating a poster was to demonstrate that we knew how to attract and address our target audience. In Photoshop, we used a mid shot of our protagonist overlooking the rugby pitches. We used this specific photo as it emits a masculine vibe, clearly shows our genre of sports and the emotional battle of the protagonist, how he is torn in two different directions. Our target audience of young men, are likely to be sports fans and relate to themes and the plot. The genre is clearly addressed as he is wearing his rugby jersey with the number 9 on his back, the position which he plays. He is also holding a rugby ball to clearly show the target audience this is a film they will enjoy as it revolves around rugby.
In Photoshop we added the protagonist name at the top of the poster to clearly show who is acting in the film. We made this a large title as actors play a large role in the reason for people going to see films, as this actor is unknown, promoting him like this is to promote his name. Underneath the actors's name is a tagline which relates to the story of the movie, the idea that 'one decision can change it all'. This shows the audience just how much of a big decision the protagonist faces as one decision in his life could change it forever. The title is the largest text on the photo to show the audience exactly what the film is called. This is vital in terms of getting our film to our target audience as they need to know the title of our film to be able to enquire about seeing it and visiting our social media pages. The release date of the film is also at the bottom of the poster to let our target audience know exactly when the film is to be released in cinemas.
We have had very positive feedback about this poster, and we believe this poster will be instrumental in attracting our target audience and our film becoming a success. We will also put our poster on our Facebook, twitter, Instagram and our webpage.
Here is an image of the Instagram page which I made to further the distribution of our film, raising awareness for it, prior and after release. This Instagram page will let our target audience see important information about our film such as release date, or important updates about production. This lets our target audience feel more involved in the production of our film until the release, this will make our audience feel more involved in the process and growth of the film, making them more inclined and excited to see the movie.
This a more modern form of attracting and addressing our target audience of people who enjoy sport. It will aim to reach a more technologically in tune sub-group of a target audience. Instagram is a great tool to use with addressing audiences as you can easily upload short video clips and images for our target audience to see. It is also very easy to access as it is free to download on all smartphones, so you can be updated all the time.

My production team created a webpage design on adobe photoshop to address the areas of our target audience which were not users of social media sites such as Instagram or Facebook. This webpage could also direct our audience to our Instagram page, Facebook page, Twitter handle and Snapchat account name. Here is what the finished design looked like.
When creating this webpage they used www.foxmovies.com for a base of information. This is a large film production company which is largely popular and produced huge blockbusters such as Avatar and The Revenant. Huge production companies like these act as great inspiration for smaller production teams such as ours as they are greatly popular and well known.
Excellent understanding of the significance of reaching out to your audience through platforms that will work effectively. An excellent marketing campaign created with an array of convincing products, such as the film poster and website. Your Instagram page functioned effectively in reaching younger audiences. You made every effort to communicate with and elicit feedback from your target audience.
